Line Loops..

Those loops are kinda a pain to deal with. If you get a rats nest, just pull it out of the reel till you have good line and cut it off and throw it in your bucket. Works good for leaders sometimes if the line is not damaged. That is what is nice about having over 200 yards on a spool. Here is a little trick for not getting the loops. When you are throwing, stick your index finger out right over the tip of the spool and slow down the line feed going out right before it hits the water. That might help stopping some of the backlash. Then you can let out more line for the depth of the cast with your finger over the spool. That should stop most of the loops and give you better control of hitting your target.

If I feel that there is too much line twist in the reel, I will respool it after the tournament if I can remember which pole it is. Using mono P-line, I will respool every other tournament. PowerPro line every 3rd one. Kinda got used to it as just a cost of fishing. Fresh good line is the key and will use anywhere from 30 to 65 lb line depending on the pole for the size cats that we are targeting and conditions. It is kinda like golf clubs if you get the drift there.
